Davido to Headline AFCON 2025 Kick-off Concert in Morocco as Africa’s Biggest Football Show Begins

Global Afrobeats star Davido is set to take centre stage at the official kick-off concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), adding musical firepower to Africa’s biggest football spectacle.

The concert will be held on Saturday at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat, just hours before the tournament officially gets underway.

Organisers confirmed that Davido will headline a star-studded lineup featuring French Montana, Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui, as well as Says’z and Lartiste, blending African, Arab and global sounds to mark the start of the continental showpiece.

Attendance at the concert will be restricted to fans with valid Fan IDs and match tickets, underscoring the event’s close link to the tournament’s opening ceremonies.

Davido is no stranger to major global sporting events. The Nigerian superstar previously performed at the AFCON 2017 opening ceremony, the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw in Doha, and the 2023 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards, cementing his status as one of Africa’s most sought-after international performers.

The AFCON 2025 finals officially kick off later on Saturday with an opening match between host nation Morocco and Comoros, scheduled for the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat.

With football, music and culture converging, the kick-off concert is expected to set the tone for what promises to be one of the most vibrant AFCON tournaments in recent history.
