DSS Arrests Doctor Supplying Drugs to Kwara Kidnapping Gangs

The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended a medical doctor allegedly transporting drugs to support kidnappers operating in Kwara State.

Security sources revealed that the doctor was intercepted in the Jebba area of Moro Local Government, following intelligence reports linking him to criminal gangs active in the region. The arrested doctor is accused of providing medical assistance to bandits who have sustained gunshot wounds in recent clashes with security forces.

Authorities say the arrest highlights the increasing desperation of kidnapping gangs after Nigerian troops intensified operations against armed groups infiltrating Kwara State from neighbouring regions. The troops’ onslaught has reportedly disrupted bandits’ movements, forcing them to seek medical support from covert channels.

A security official urged heightened vigilance at health facilities in forested and remote areas, warning that such locations could be exploited by criminals for treatment.

The DSS operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle kidnapping networks across the state and prevent the circulation of illicit medical aid to criminals.
