Dunsin Oyekan Decries ‘Cruel’ Church Killings as Nigeria Faces Fresh Wave of Violence

Gospel singer Dunsin Oyekan has condemned the latest string of deadly attacks targeting Christian communities in Nigeria, describing the violence as “senseless” and “too much to bear.”

His reaction follows a brutal assault on a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Kwara State on Tuesday evening, where terrorists killed three worshippers and abducted several others, including the church’s pastor.

The attack came just hours after suspected Boko Haram fighters reportedly murdered eight people in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State on Monday night, deepening concerns about the worsening security crisis.

Oyekan, posting on Instagram, called for divine justice and questioned the government’s response to the escalating bloodshed.

“May the Lord judge the enemies of this nation once and for all in this season,” he wrote. “These killings are too much, senseless, and cruel! Psalm 82:1–8 is my prayer in this season. And we have a government abi?????”

The gospel minister’s outcry reflects growing public frustration as communities across several states continue to face violent attacks from armed groups and insurgents.
