Edo Governor Okpebholo courts global investors at UK summit

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has arrived in Glasgow, United Kingdom, to headline the 2025 Edo State Global Investment Summit — a strategic drive to attract foreign direct investment and strengthen economic partnerships.

The summit, themed “Catalytic Partnerships: Global Funding & Local Impact,” brings together international investors, development partners, and members of the Nigerian diaspora to explore Edo’s economic opportunities and reform agenda.

Governor Okpebholo, who was received by dignitaries and diaspora representatives, described the event as a platform to reposition Edo as a hub for investment and innovation.

“The theme resonates as I connect with Edo’s diaspora and global partners, presenting our story of reforms, progress, and investment opportunities. A New Edo is rising,” he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The governor stressed that the engagement would deepen public-private partnerships, boost investor confidence, and showcase Edo’s transformation agenda. He also highlighted the role of the diaspora in driving sustainable development in the state.

The Edo State Government hopes the summit will unlock new capital inflows into infrastructure, technology, agriculture, and energy — sectors considered critical to the state’s economic future.
