Ex-Imo Deputy Governor Madumere mourns Rev Uma Ukpai, calls his death a monumental global loss

Former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has mourned the passing of renowned evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, Rev Dr Uma Ukpai, describing his death as “a monumental global loss to the body of Christ.”

Madumere, in a condolence message issued in Owerri, said the revered cleric lived a life wholly dedicated to God and humanity, offering hope to the hopeless through his tireless revival missions, healing crusades, and evangelistic outreaches around the world.

He noted that Rev Ukpai’s ministry extended beyond the pulpit, as he consistently supported the poor and less privileged through scholarships, empowerment initiatives, and humanitarian projects.

“Rev Uma Ukpai was Christ-like,” Madumere said. “He preached the Gospel and touched lives positively through the award of scholarships to the needy. That is the true essence of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The former deputy governor urged other men of God to emulate Ukpai’s compassion and commitment by combining spiritual leadership with acts of charity.

“The world would be a better place if every pastor, reverend, and bishop gives back to society through prayers, gifts, and scholarships for the poor and needy,” he added.

Madumere prayed for divine comfort for the bereaved family and for God to grant the late evangelist eternal rest.

“May Almighty God grant his immediate family, Nigeria, and the world the strength to bear this irreparable loss and grant his soul eternal rest in Jesus’ name, Amen,” he concluded.
