Nigerian rapper and singer Ice Prince Zamani has set the record straight on his recent weight loss, assuring fans that his transformation is not due to illness but a conscious lifestyle change.
The Oleku hitmaker revealed on Monday that he decided to shed excess belly fat after family and friends expressed concern over his growing weight — a result of what he described as “bad habits and choices.”
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ice Prince shared that his longtime collaborator, Chopstix, played a key role in his fitness journey by motivating him to stay consistent.
“God so good inna me life… no sickness (Bless God), just bad habits and choices,” he wrote.
“Chopstix and Dami said ‘let’s lose the belly Ice,’ and that really sparked something in my brain that got me activated. Chopstix started coming to my house every day after dinner, and we both walked my estate for an hour. Our talks during those walks are priceless to me.”
Fans had recently voiced concern over Ice Prince’s slimmer look, with speculation spreading online about his health. His clarification has since been met with an outpouring of support and admiration for his honesty and discipline.
The rapper joins a growing list of Nigerian celebrities who have made headlines for major body transformations. In 2022, Eniola Badmus dropped an astonishing 80 kilograms, while earlier this year, Mercy Johnson-Okojie opened up about her dramatic weight loss following a thyroid surgery that had sparked health concerns among fans.
Ice Prince’s story, however, reflects a more relatable message — one of self-improvement and wellness rather than illness.
