Renowned Nigerian gospel singer Deborah Fasoyin, famous for her hit song Odun n lo sopin, has debunked claims of her death circulating on social media and some news outlets on Monday.
The 86-year-old Christ Apostolic Church singer addressed the rumors in a video released online, calling the reports false and reassuring fans of her good health.
“Great day to you everybody, I’m happy to tell you that I’m hale and hearty, and what you’ve seen on Facebook is fake,” Fasoyin said. “I know that I will finish strong with supernatural sound health. And I will go to my father in peace, not in sickness, not in pain. And I will die at a good old age just like my father Abraham. Thank you very much.”
The video has since gone viral, with fans and followers celebrating her message and expressing relief that the gospel icon is still in good health.
