International Women’s Day: Family Rebuilders Outreach Empowers Women, Takes ‘Renewed Hope’ Message to Female Inmates in Owerri

Women empowerment took centre stage in Owerri as Family Rebuilders Outreach (FRO) marked the International Women’s Day with a transformative programme aimed at equipping women with practical tools for purposeful living while also reaching out to female inmates at the Owerri Correctional Centre.

The initiative, organised by the family-focused non-governmental organisation, brought together women from different backgrounds for mentorship, empowerment training, and humanitarian outreach designed to strengthen families and inspire personal growth.

Founder of the organisation, Beatrice Anachuna, said the programme was driven by the belief that strong families remain the backbone of a thriving society. According to her, empowering women with the right mindset, structure, and support can create a ripple effect that transforms homes, communities, and ultimately the nation.

“Family Rebuilders Outreach is a non-governmental, family-focused organization dedicated to rebuilding and strengthening families as the foundation of a healthy society,” she said. “When women are strengthened, families flourish, and when families flourish, nations become stronger.”

Efficiency Reset Session for Women

A major highlight of the event was an “Efficiency Reset Session for Women,” led by leadership strategist and development expert Chinedu Nwagu.

During his lecture titled “The Structured Woman: Increasing Efficiency in the Pursuit of Our Dreams and Our Ministry as Mothers,” Nwagu challenged participants to rethink productivity and move beyond constant activity to intentional, structured living.

He explained that many women struggle not because they lack ability, but because their daily lives lack clear structure and alignment with their goals.

Efficiency, he noted, is not about doing more tasks but about eliminating the friction between identity, available resources, and the impact one hopes to achieve. He urged women to first understand their purpose and season of life before designing routines and schedules.

Participants were introduced to practical frameworks for managing time, energy, attention, and support systems—tools designed to help women balance family life, personal growth, business, and ministry without burnout.

Many attendees described the session as a powerful mindset shift that provided practical systems for building purposeful lives while nurturing their families.

Outreach to Female Inmates

Following the empowerment session, members of Family Rebuilders Outreach visited female inmates at the Owerri Correctional Centre as part of the organisation’s humanitarian outreach to mark International Women’s Day.

During the visit, the team donated self-care and personal hygiene kits containing soap, sponges, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sanitary pads, and petroleum jelly.

Anachuna described the gesture as symbolic, stressing that dignity and self-respect are often restored through simple acts of care.

Addressing the inmates in a message titled “Renewed Hope: Rebuilding From Within,” she encouraged them to see their current circumstances not as the end of their journey but as an opportunity for reflection and personal transformation.

She reminded the women that change begins internally and that every individual deserves dignity, hope, and the chance to rebuild their lives.

The inmates expressed appreciation for the visit and pledged to embrace personal growth and positive change.

Commitment to Continued Outreach

Anachuna also thanked officers and staff of the correctional facility for their support during the outreach programme, noting that prison visits will become a recurring initiative of the organisation.

According to her, supporting vulnerable and marginalised groups forms a core part of the organisation’s mission.

She added that participants left the event with renewed inspiration and practical tools to pursue their dreams, strengthen their homes, and contribute meaningfully to society.

Through initiatives like this, Family Rebuilders Outreach is steadily positioning itself as a growing voice in women development, family empowerment, and community transformation across Nigeria.
