Afrobeats star Kizz Daniel has dismissed viral claims that a Nigerian court froze his bank accounts over an alleged contract breach.
The report, which circulated widely on social media, alleged that the singer — whose real name is Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe — was ordered to pay €200,000 in damages for failing to honour a show after receiving a $50,000 advance. It further claimed that his Access Bank accounts had been frozen by court order.
But in a statement released on Thursday, Kizz Daniel’s management described the claims as false and malicious, branding them an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
“Kizz Daniel has no such case in court, and no accounts have been frozen. We urge fans, partners, and the general public to disregard this fabricated story,” the statement read.
The singer’s team also revealed plans to take legal action against those behind the story, stressing that he remains focused on his career and upcoming shows.
They further recalled that Kizz Daniel was wrongly linked to a botched 2022 festival, Afrobeats Meets Berlin, where promoters allegedly used his name and image to sell tickets despite failing to meet their own obligations. The singer, his team insisted, was ready to perform.
Kizz Daniel, best known for hits like Buga and Twe Twe, has often been the subject of false rumours, but his management says such distractions will not derail his music journey.
