Kwara Security Crackdown: Businessman, Three Suspected Bandits Arrested Over Alleged Terror Links

Security forces in Kwara State have arrested a businessman and three suspected bandits in a coordinated operation targeting criminal networks in the state.

The businessman, identified as Isiaka Fatal Onisowo, was apprehended in Kaiama Local Government Area alongside the suspects during a joint patrol involving the military, police, Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The operation took place at about 3:00 p.m. on Monday, according to security sources, who said the arrest followed intelligence linking the suspect to armed bandit groups operating in the area.

“Alhaji Isiaka Fatai Onisowo was tracked and linked to having connections with terrorists,” a source familiar with the operation disclosed, adding that the suspects are currently in military custody in Kaiama undergoing interrogation.

Authorities have yet to release the identities of the three other suspects arrested during the operation.

The development comes amid ongoing efforts by security agencies to dismantle bandit networks and restore safety in communities across Kwara and neighbouring states. Officials say investigations are ongoing and further details will be made public as the case progresses.
