Sundry Markets Limited, owners of the Marketsquare supermarket chain, has assured customers and stakeholders that its Sapele Road branch in Benin City is fully compliant with state tax and regulatory obligations following its temporary closure.

The retail giant confirmed the store was reopened shortly after presenting the required documentation to the relevant authorities.

In a statement, the company emphasised that it remains committed to operating within the law and maintaining transparent engagement with regulators to prevent similar incidents in the future.

“As a responsible corporate citizen, we remain committed to full compliance with statutory obligations and to maintaining the trust of our customers and stakeholders,” the management said.

Marketsquare, regarded as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing supermarket chains, currently operates three stores in Edo State, generating more than 500 direct and indirect jobs. The company noted it is continuing to expand its network across the state and other parts of the country, with the aim of making quality goods and services more accessible.

Sundry Markets thanked customers for their patience during the brief closure, reaffirming its commitment to delivering the trusted service and shopping experience the brand is known for.
