The federal government has hailed the conviction of Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa as a major victory for the Nigerian people.
Daily Sun reported that Ekpa was found guilty of inciting terrorism and was given a six-year sentence by a Finnish court on Monday.
Reacting to the ruling via his X account, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said the development was a welcome one.
Idris called Ekpa’s conviction a victory for Nigerians in the fight against terror.
“We welcome the news of Simon Ekpa’s conviction by a Finnish court for terrorism-related crimes and his sentencing to six years in prison.
“A major victory for the Nigerian people in the collective fight against terror,” he penned.
