Osun APC Ward Suspends Ex-Lawmaker Oyintiloye Amid Allegations of Misconduct

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 01, Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State has announced the indefinite suspension of former State House of Assembly member, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, over alleged misconduct that the ward officials say has affected unity and cohesion within the ward.

A letter addressed to the Osun State APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, and dated Thursday, January 29, 2026, outlined the reasons for the suspension. The document, signed by 18 ward executives and five leaders, accused Oyintiloye of allegedly taking control of an Executive Assistant (EA) slot and funds totaling N5.6 million without authorisation. The funds, the signatories claimed, were originally intended for ward leaders.

The ward officials also alleged that Oyintiloye had secured a personal EA slot through a third party while holding a federal appointment, organised parallel meetings that threatened ward unity, and remained absent from ward meetings and political activities for over three years. They cited a lack of financial or material contributions to ward activities despite his political benefits as justification for the disciplinary action.

The letter concluded that the suspension was necessary to preserve party unity and ensure the success of the APC ahead of future elections, declaring: “Hon. Bosun Oyintiloye is hereby suspended indefinitely from Ward One, Ibokun, and shall cease to represent the interests of the ward at any level.” The signatories, however, stressed openness to intervention from party leadership.

Reacting to the suspension, Oyintiloye dismissed the move as invalid, describing it as a scheme by disgruntled party members allegedly aligned with opposition interests. In a phone interview with DAILY POST, he denied all allegations, including control of the EA slot and access to the N5.6 million.

He added: “The allegations are lies aimed solely at discrediting me. I have reported the matter to the state party leadership. Their action is a joke of the century because I remain a loyal and respected member of the APC. I urge the public to disregard the purported suspension.”

Oyintiloye also questioned the legitimacy of the signatories, noting that some, including Gbenga Fagbamila, had previously been suspended for financial misconduct.

As of filing, the Osun APC State Leadership had not commented on the alleged suspension.
