Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant, has formally sought the support of Oyo State lawmakers as he positions himself to succeed Governor Seyi Makinde in the 2027 election.

Oguntoyinbo met with members of the Oyo State House of Assembly in Ibadan on Thursday, including Deputy Speaker Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi, Chief Whip Oyekola Gbenga, and other legislators, to seek mentorship, guidance, and endorsement for his political ambition.

The aspirant, who previously contested the governorship under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Ogun State in 2023, highlighted his Oyo State roots and described his political pursuit as a “divine assignment” inspired by calls from political elders and ancestral communities.

“I stand here today to seek your leadership, mentorship, and guidance as I offer myself to succeed our great leader, Governor Oluseyi Makinde, to continue the mandate of good governance,” Oguntoyinbo said.

He emphasized that his objective is to replicate his humanitarian and developmental initiatives from Ogun State in Oyo, where his father hails from, reinforcing his commitment to service, sincerity, and dedication to the state.

The PDP aspirant’s engagement with lawmakers follows his recent visit to PDP executives in the state, marking a strategic step in consolidating support ahead of the party’s 2027 governorship contest.
