Police Foil Robbery in Nasarawa, Arrest Two Suspects, Recover Gun and Stolen Motorcycle

Police in Nasarawa State have arrested two men suspected of armed robbery and recovered a locally made firearm as well as a stolen motorcycle during a swift operation in Nasarawa town.

The suspects, identified as Isaac Audu and Jamilu Yusuf, were apprehended by operatives of the Nasarawa Division following intelligence-led surveillance shortly after an alleged robbery attack.

According to the Nasarawa State Police Command, preliminary investigations indicate that the duo, armed with a locally fabricated gun, attacked a resident in the Foundation Area, behind the Federal Polytechnic Staff School, in the early hours of Saturday, December 20, 2025.

During the attack, the suspects allegedly dispossessed the victim of an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle before fleeing the scene.

Police operatives, acting on timely intelligence, tracked the suspects and arrested them a short distance from the crime scene. The stolen motorcycle and the locally made firearm were recovered during the operation.

Confirming the arrest, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the officers involved for their prompt response and urged personnel across the command to sustain proactive policing.

He also reassured residents of Nasarawa State of the command’s readiness to maintain law and order, particularly during the Yuletide season, stressing the police’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
