
The People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Imo State Chapter, has concluded elections for its ward, Local Government Area (LGA), and State executives, ushering in a new leadership team led by Engr. Reginald Keke as State Chairman. The elections took place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Government Technical College, Owerri, under the watchful eyes of INEC officials.
The exercise was monitored by the Head of Department, Election and Party Monitoring, INEC, Owerri, ensuring transparency and compliance with party regulations.
Hon. Peter Okafor, South-East Zonal National Vice Chairman of PRP and Chairman of the Congress Committee, praised committee members for their efforts in conducting a successful and credible election. He emphasized PRP’s status as Nigeria’s oldest political party without factional divisions, highlighting its self-funded national secretariat in Abuja as a mark of independence from rented offices used by many opposition parties.
Okafor expressed confidence in the party’s ability to strengthen grassroots structures and win future elections, citing previous victories of PRP candidates, including Hon. Reginald Keke and Hon. Levi Anyanwu, in House of Representatives contests.

In his acceptance speech, Engr. Reginald Keke described the election as the dawn of a new era for PRP in Imo State. Drawing on his previous experience in a caretaker capacity, Keke promised to advance the party’s goals through diplomacy, pragmatism, and grassroots mobilization.
“It is a privilege to be elected Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party. Commitment, diligence, and transparency will be our watchwords,” Keke said, urging members to fully engage in strengthening the party’s presence across the state.
State Secretary Hon. Levi Anyanwu echoed these sentiments, urging LGA and Ward executives to return to their communities to promote PRP ideals and drive growth from the grassroots.
