Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, has congratulated the winners of the recent bye-elections and expressed his readiness to collaborate with the state House of Assembly to advance development and governance in the state.
The governor made the remarks while commending Ukalikpe Napoleon and Loolo Bulabari Henrietta, who emerged victorious in the Ahoada East State Constituency II and Khana State Constituency II bye-elections, respectively.
The polls, conducted on Saturday, February 21, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), filled vacant seats in the Rivers State House of Assembly. Both winners, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured decisive victories in their respective constituencies.
Governor Fubara described the electoral outcomes as “well-deserved” and urged the new lawmakers to honor the trust placed in them by their constituents.
“It is the beauty of democracy. When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes,” Fubara said. “I look forward to working with them and their colleagues in the Rivers State House of Assembly for the progress of our state.”
The governor also commended residents of Ahoada East and Khana for maintaining peace and order before, during, and after the elections, describing their conduct as a mark of democratic maturity.
