Rivers Police Rescue Five Kidnap Victims as Manhunt Intensifies for Armed Cultists

Five abducted residents of Rivers State have been rescued by police operatives following a coordinated early-morning operation in Emuoha Local Government Area.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the development on Thursday, saying the victims — Prince London, Azubuike Kelechukwu, Elizabeth Aniete, Onyebuchi Precious and London Sampson — were freed during a tactical raid on Rumudogo 2 Community.

According to her, the operation was carried out by the Command’s Tactical Teams working alongside other security agencies and with strong support from local vigilante elements. All five victims have been taken to hospital for medical evaluation.

Iringe-Koko said detectives are now pursuing the gang responsible for the abduction, describing the search as “intensive and ongoing.”

Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, vowed that those behind the attack will be arrested and prosecuted.

“He will not rest until all those responsible are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law,” the statement added.

The Commissioner urged residents to remain calm and continue with their daily activities, assuring that the police and sister security agencies are working together to keep communities safe.
