Nigerian singer Ruger has stirred controversy online after suggesting that women who undergo Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery often exhibit “bad character.”

The artist shared the remark on X, where he wrote in pidgin English that he usually assumes women with BBL have questionable attitudes, adding that the cosmetic procedure “comes with small attitude.”

His post quickly ignited a heated debate across social media platforms, with many users criticising the musician for reinforcing stereotypes and policing women’s bodies. Others questioned why female appearance continues to attract disproportionate public scrutiny.
