Former Senate President and ex-Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, has declared that the successful and peaceful conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward congresses across the state is clear evidence that the party is poised to reclaim leadership.
In a statement issued by his press officer on local matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki described the congresses held in all 193 wards of the state as a reflection of unity, internal democracy, and renewed strength within the PDP.
“The congresses once again demonstrated the growing strength of our party in Kwara,” Saraki said. He added that the consensus-driven process not only showcased the party’s organisational readiness but also highlighted its determination to reclaim political power at all levels.
Saraki commended party members for their exemplary conduct during the exercise, stressing that their commitment reflected a collective resolve to work in harmony for the party’s success.
He congratulated the newly elected ward executives, urging them to embrace their positions as a call to service. According to him, the ward leaders carry the responsibility of acting as unifiers, mobilisers, and genuine voices for the aspirations of the people.
Political analysts note that the smooth conduct of the congresses could mark a significant turning point in PDP’s bid to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara ahead of the next elections.
