Nigerian superstars Tems and Burna Boy have set a new record as the African artists with the most entries on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart, surpassing the South African rock group Seether.
Previously tied with seven entries each, the Nigerian duo now hold a joint total of eight entries, thanks to features on J. Cole’s latest album, ‘The Fall-Off’. Tems appears on ‘Bounce Road Blues’ alongside Future, which debuted at number 34, while Burna Boy features on ‘Only You’, debuting at 78.
Tems has now claimed three Billboard Hot 100 entries in 2026 alone, including her collaborations on ‘Raindance’ with Dave, ‘What You Need’, and ‘Bounce Road Blues’, making her the African artist with the most entries this year so far.
Burna Boy, meanwhile, has achieved another historic milestone, becoming the first African artist to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years. His charting tracks span multiple years, including ‘Loved By You’ (2021), ‘Last Last’ (2022), ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ and ‘Talibans II’ (2023), ‘Just Like Me’ and ‘We Pray’ (2024), ‘WGFT’ (2025), and now ‘Only You’ (2026).
The achievements further cement the global impact of Nigerian music, highlighting Tems and Burna Boy as trailblazers for African artists on international platforms.
“Tems and Burna Boy continue to redefine the global footprint of African music, blending Afrobeats and contemporary sounds with worldwide appeal,” music analysts said.
