Tension Rises in Imo APC as Search for New Party Executives Begins

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State are reportedly gripped by anxiety and uncertainty following reports that the party has begun the search for new executives at all levels, from state to local government and ward offices.

The tenure of the existing party executives had long expired, with a national chairman appointed while other structures were allowed to continue temporarily. However, sources reveal that the process to replace officials at LGA and ward levels has now commenced.

Insiders told Trumpeta that the compilation of potential candidates is being carried out discreetly, prompting tension among local party leaders worried about their inclusion in the new structure. The “fear of the unknown” stems from uncertainty over who will be considered in the selection process.

Hon. Dr. Macdonald Ebere, the state APC chairman, has reportedly toured LGAs to assess party strength and manpower, as preparations for the upcoming appointments intensify.
