President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, following the elevation of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda to the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July.
In a letter sent to the Senate on Tuesday, President Tinubu requested the upper chamber to screen and confirm Dr Doro for ministerial appointment.
Dr Doro, born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement across the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, alongside an MBA specializing in IT-driven business strategy and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.
An Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Dr Doro has served with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) across urgent care units, walk-in centres, GP practices, and hospital departments.
Beyond medicine, he has championed youth mentorship and social impact initiatives, both in the Nigerian diaspora and local communities.
If confirmed, Dr Doro is expected to bring his vast healthcare and leadership expertise to strengthen the Tinubu administration’s social and human development agenda.
