Uzor Arukwe has spoken out about rumours suggesting his on-screen chemistry with actress and reality TV star Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as Bambam, caused tension in her marriage.
The Nollywood actor dismissed the claims, insisting that their relationship was strictly professional while working together on a film project.
Arukwe made the clarification during an interview with BBC Igbo, where he addressed speculation that surfaced after their performance in the movie sparked conversations online.
According to Arukwe, he made deliberate efforts to maintain clear boundaries while filming scenes that required physical interaction.
The actor said he openly discussed the situation with Bambam beforehand to ensure that nothing they did on set would create problems in her home.
“Before I touched her, I asked her if there was any way I could touch her that her husband wouldn’t like or that might cause problems at home,” he explained.
Arukwe also rejected rumours circulating on social media suggesting that he and Bambam were romantically involved off-screen.
He revealed that the film project marked the first time they had ever met, dismissing claims that they were dating or had an intimate relationship outside their professional roles.
“That movie was the first time I had ever met her. But people started saying we slept together and were dating, which was completely false,” he said.
The speculation reportedly began after viewers reacted to the pair’s convincing on-screen performance, which some interpreted as evidence of a deeper connection beyond acting.
However, Arukwe insisted that the rumours were unfounded, stressing that his focus was simply delivering a convincing role without crossing personal boundaries
