Nigerian singer and songwriter Vicky Jay has delivered a heartfelt message to music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, urging him to remain resilient amid ongoing personal and online controversies.

The message, blending spoken-word music with lyrical tribute, has rapidly circulated on YouTube and social media, celebrating 2Baba’s decades-long contributions to Nigerian music. Vicky Jay referred to 2Baba as a mentor, motivator, and “king,” while cautioning him against allowing external pressures to alter his identity.

“For decades you’ve been giving us reason to be happy,” Vicky Jay said. “Your voice, your music, always a soul revival from Plantashun Boiz days to Kennis Music. Don’t let anybody change your identity. You’re stronger than the shadows whispering negativity.”

The rising artiste urged 2Baba to distance himself from insincere friends and to prioritise peace over misplaced loyalty. “Cut off the fake friends, the ones wey pretend… not everybody deserves loyalty at the expense of your peace,” he said.

“A true king needs a loyal, peaceful queen, not somebody wey go dim your light or break your royal spirit,” Vicky Jay added.
