The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, will on Thursday commission two completed road projects and flag off 12 new infrastructure developments across Abuja, including major road networks and solar lighting installations under the Light Up Abuja initiative.
According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the commissioning and flag-offs will run between September 18 and October 16, 2025.
Among the projects for commissioning are the access roads in Sector Centre B by Dakibiyu District and two newly constructed roads in Mabushi District — Esther Bali Street (ILS 11) and Kez Udezue Street (MAR 24).

These projects follow recent FCT initiatives, including expanded water supply to satellite towns, a new sports centre in Kafe District, a Magistrate Court complex in Jabi, and road rehabilitation works in Karu.
Wike has repeatedly pledged to prioritize infrastructure renewal and expansion, positioning Abuja as a model capital city with modern amenities, improved access roads, and sustainable energy solutions.
