The National Secretary Ajibola Basiru has stated that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is contributing to the success of the All Progressives Congress-led federal government, despite not being a member of the party.
Speaking on TVC’s Beyond The Headlines, Basiru highlighted the transformative infrastructural projects across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) over the past two and a half years, crediting Wike’s administration for playing a pivotal role in the APC’s victory in the recent FCT local government elections.
Basiru said the improvements were visible not only in urban centres but also in suburban areas, describing Wike’s performance as “sterling.” He added that the combination of effective governance and the APC’s strategic engagement—particularly selecting candidates with proven political track records from various parties—was key to the party’s electoral success in the territory.
“The sterling performance of the FCT Minister, together with our careful selection of credible candidates across different parties, contributed significantly to APC’s victory in the FCT local government elections,” Basiru explained.
He emphasized that the delivery of democratic dividends under Wike’s stewardship cannot be separated from the APC’s achievements at the polls, underscoring the synergy between the minister’s administrative actions and the party’s strategic positioning.
