A routine political fundraising event in Birnin Kebbi took an unexpected turn when a woman went into labour and delivered twin boys at the venue, drawing attention and swift support from officials present.
The incident happened during a women-focused mobilisation programme organised by Zainab Nasir Idris at Haliru Audu Stadium, where political leaders and supporters had gathered.
Witnesses said the woman had attended the event seeking assistance when she suddenly began labour and gave birth on-site, catching attendees off guard.
She and the newborns were immediately attended to and later transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care and monitoring.
The event was also attended by Nasir Idris, alongside party loyalists and community members, who were present when the situation unfolded.
In a show of support, Bello Dallatun Ka’oje, who represents Suru/Bagudo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, announced a ₦5 million donation to the mother on behalf of the governor.
The financial support, he said, is intended to assist with medical care and the children’s naming ceremony.
The unusual birth at a political gathering has since drawn widespread reactions, with many describing it as both dramatic and symbolic of unexpected moments in public events.
