Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has alleged that he possesses a video showing how late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, was killed. He made the claim in a video shared across his social media platforms, renewing calls for President Bola Tinubu to personally intervene in the controversial case.
Fabiyi said the footage reached him as part of an extortion attempt, insisting that unnamed individuals wanted to use the material for leverage. He revealed that he wrote to President Tinubu in May 2025, stating that Mohbad was “murdered” and urging the government to prevent any cover-up.
According to him, the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja reviewed Mohbad’s case and “identified key suspects”, but he alleged that some individuals were now attempting to suppress the findings.
“Now they want to cover it up,” the actor said. “They are even asking the same suspects to write a petition against me over illegal arrests. This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you.”
Fabiyi called on authorities to ensure that the investigation remains transparent, warning that the attempts to discredit him were part of a broader effort to bury evidence.
Mohbad’s death sparked nationwide outrage, with fans and activists repeatedly demanding clarity on circumstances surrounding the 27-year-old’s passing. The latest claims have reignited public debate as calls grow for a conclusive, credible resolution.
