Zamfara Violence: Bandits Kill Village Chief, Abduct Several Residents in Dogon Daji

Armed bandits launched a deadly attack on Dogon Daji village in Zamfara State on Monday evening, killing the traditional ruler and abducting several residents.

The attackers also blocked the Tsafe–Gusau highway, leaving travellers stranded and heightening fear among locals.

Security analyst Bakatsine confirmed the incident in a post on X, stating:

“Yesterday evening, bandits attacked Dogon Daji in Zamfara State. They slaughtered the village traditional ruler. They also blocked Tsafe to Gusau road and abducted several people. Faskari LGA peace deals with bandits only shift violence not end it.”

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement as of the time of reporting.

The attack adds to a string of violent incidents across Zamfara, where armed groups continue to terrorise rural communities despite ongoing peace initiatives.
