2027: Isaac Fayose Claims APC Cannot Win Three Major States Without Rigging

Social commentator and businessman Isaac Fayose has claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot win in three of Nigeria’s 10 states with the highest number of registered voters without electoral malpractice.

Fayose made the claim in a video shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election.

He listed Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Rivers, Oyo, Delta, Benue, Ogun and Bauchi as states with high numbers of registered voters, arguing that the APC lacked sufficient grassroots support to secure victories across some of them without rigging.

The businessman described the ruling party as a bully, alleging that its political strength depended largely on its control of federal power and support from influential individuals rather than widespread popularity among ordinary Nigerians.

According to Fayose, the APC’s control of security institutions and access to wealthy supporters should not be mistaken for genuine acceptance by voters.

He also challenged the ruling party to demonstrate its popularity by allowing opposition parties to campaign freely and compete in a credible electoral process.

“You are strong because you have the police, the army and the rich people but you are not strong on the street. You all are bullies,” he said.

Fayose further questioned why the opposition was allegedly being prevented from campaigning in some states as preparations for the next general election continue.

“If you people are sure of yourself, why not allow free and fair elections? Why are you stopping us from campaigning,” he asked.

He called for free, fair and credible elections, insisting that a transparent contest would determine which political parties genuinely enjoy the support of voters.

His comments add to the political debate surrounding the APC’s electoral prospects and the preparedness of opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections.

However, Fayose’s assertion about the APC’s chances and his allegations of electoral malpractice remain his own claims. The supplied report does not provide independent evidence to establish that the party would need to rig elections to win in any of the states listed.
