The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that President Bola Tinubu remains the party’s candidate for the 2027 elections, expressing confidence that Nigerians will once again give him their mandate.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, Yilwatda said the party’s leadership and members have already endorsed Tinubu for a second term.
“At the summit of the party, the governors, National Assembly members, and all members present endorsed President Tinubu as their preferred candidate for 2027,” he said.
The APC chairman emphasized that the party’s decision is guided by its members’ consensus.
“We are the party that listens to the voice of our members. If our members endorse him, the party will go along with him. Nigerians voted Tinubu in 2023, and they will do the same in 2027,” Yilwatda stated.
The ruling party has maintained that Tinubu’s policies, particularly in economic reform and governance restructuring, position him as the strongest contender for continuity in 2027.
