A major Hausa–Fulani bloc within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State has ended a long-standing internal rift, pledging full support for Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the party’s unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Meeting in Jos North on Tuesday, the group announced the reconciliation in a communiqué signed by the PDP Hausa–Fulani Reconciliation Committee, describing the resolution as “a new dawn of unity, cooperation, and progress” for the party.

Committee chairman, Alhaji Bello Nakande, said the group reached peace after “constructive engagements” that brought together all stakeholders, who agreed to set aside their differences and work as “one united family.”

Nakande commended the immediate past state PDP chairman, Hon. Chris Adakuchili Hassan, and the outgoing State Executive Committee (SEC) for their leadership and dedication, crediting them for helping the PDP reclaim power during the 2023 elections.

“We congratulate the outgoing chairman, Hon. Chris Adakuchili Hassan, and the State Executive Committee for their sacrifice, resilience, and strategic leadership. They inspired members across Plateau State,” the communiqué stated.

The group also congratulated the newly elected PDP Chairman, Hon. Raymond Dabo, while condemning what it described as “a malicious campaign of calumny” allegedly sponsored by opposition figures to tarnish his image.

It clarified that Dabo “was duly discharged, cleared, and acquitted by a competent court of law,” dismissing claims by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that he was a convicted individual.

Reaffirming loyalty to Governor Mutfwang’s administration, the group praised his “people-oriented leadership” and commitment to unity and development across Plateau State.

“With renewed energy and shared purpose, we stand united to support the PDP and ensure its victory in all future elections for the benefit of our people and our beloved Plateau State,” the communiqué concluded.
