Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to the resignation of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Davido reposted the governor’s announcement on X on Tuesday with the caption “Jeje…”, a phrase many interpreted as a call for calm amid the political upheaval.

Governor Adeleke officially made his resignation public on Monday night, though the resignation letter, dated November 4, 2025, was addressed to the chairman of Ward 2 in Ede North. The governor cited unresolved issues within the PDP national leadership as the reason for his departure.

The resignation has thrown the party into uncertainty ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship primaries, leaving political analysts speculating on the impact of Adeleke’s move on the party’s electoral prospects.

Political observers note that the exit of a sitting governor from a major opposition party so close to the primaries could reshape alliances and strategies in the state.
