Plateau PDP Denounces Group Urging Gov Mutfwang to Join APC

The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disowned a faction within its ranks that called on Governor Caleb Mutfwang to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement on Tuesday, PDP Publicity Secretary Hon. Felix Choji described the group, led by Hon. Christopher Danjem, as “strange and faceless,” insisting it is neither recognised by the party nor its leadership.

Choji accused the group of being manipulated by APC sponsors aiming to distract the PDP and undermine the governor’s administration. “The press release by Danjem and his group misrepresents and misleads the general public,” the statement said.

The PDP clarified that the faction is not registered as an official support platform in Plateau State and does not reflect the party’s position. Choji urged the public to disregard the claims and rely on verified information.

“The statements and activities coordinated by Hon. Christopher Danjem are solely those of his associates and do not necessarily reflect the official views or endorsements of the PDP Plateau State Chapter,” the statement added.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to democracy, national cohesion, social justice, and good governance, promising continued transparent communication with the public.
