Osun APC Demands Resignation of Adeleke’s Chief of Staff Over Alleged N13.7bn Payroll Fraud

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has called on Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, Chief of Staff to Governor Ademola Adeleke, to step down over alleged links to a reported N13.7 billion payroll fraud.

The opposition party made the demand in a statement issued by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, accusing Akinleye of bringing what it described as “monumental shame” to the state.

APC Cites Allegations, Leaked Audio

According to the statement, allegations circulating online — including claims made by Saadat Ottun, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sally Tibbot Consulting Limited — have intensified scrutiny around the payroll controversy.

The APC also referenced a leaked audio recording purportedly involving the Chief of Staff, arguing that the development has raised serious questions about his conduct in office.

“It is now understood that Governor Adeleke has been getting everything wrong about his waning administration simply because those who are manning the key sectors of his government are grossly deficient in managerial skills,” the party said.

The party further described Akinleye as unfit to occupy such a sensitive position, insisting that his continued stay in office undermines public confidence in the administration.

“That a character like Akinleye could be occupying such a sensitive office in the Osun State Government is an insult to the sensibility of the people of the state,” the statement read.

Comparison With Former Chiefs of Staff

The APC compared the incumbent Chief of Staff with former occupants of the office, including Elder Peter Babalola, who served under former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Gboyega Oyetola, who held the role during the administration of Rauf Aregbesola.

“A cursory appraisal of the past Chiefs of Staff in the state revealed that there cannot be any meeting point between them and the incumbent CoS,” the statement added.

The opposition party also alleged that Akinleye exceeded his official responsibilities and used his office for personal advantage.

“We hereby resolve that Akinleye should resign his appointment without further delay as he has brought more than enough monumental shame to the people of this state,” the APC declared.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Akinleye nor the Osun State Government had issued an official response to the allegations.
