Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a new State Executive Council in Bauchi State, with party leaders calling for unity and strategic mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A total of 36 officials were elected into the council, led by Alhaji Muhammad Hassan Tilde as State Chairman. However, 29 members were sworn in during Wednesday’s ceremony at the party’s state secretariat, while seven were absent due to travel commitments.
Barrister Abdulmumini Adamu administered the oath of office and presented certificates to the newly inaugurated executives.
Party officials said those who missed the ceremony were either outside the country — including one member in Saudi Arabia — or attending the party’s zonal congress in Gombe State.
They are expected to be formally inaugurated before the APC’s upcoming national convention.
Speaking on behalf of the new executives, Chairman Tilde pledged to deliver responsible and inclusive leadership, promising to justify the confidence placed in the team.
He urged party officials to remain guided by discipline, integrity, and adherence to party rules, while fostering unity across all levels of the party structure.
Tilde emphasised the need for reconciliation among party members and called for broader inclusion as the APC prepares for the next electoral cycle.
He also encouraged party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts, expressing confidence that the party would secure victories across key positions — from the presidency to legislative seats.
The event drew the attendance of several senior party officials, including State Secretary Mustapha Zurami and other members of the executive council.
Political observers say the move reflects the APC’s early efforts to consolidate its base in Bauchi State as preparations for 2027 gather pace.
