Momentum is building within the All Progressives Congress in Abuja as party leaders across all six geo-political zones in the FCT throw their weight behind Sarah Ivie Adidi for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency race in 2027.

The endorsement followed a high-level stakeholders’ meeting in the Federal Capital Territory, where party figures, grassroots mobilisers and local leaders assessed the political direction of the constituency and the urgency of stronger representation.

Zonal chairmen at the meeting described Adidi as a unifying figure with the capacity to navigate the constituency’s complex demographics. They argued that her candidacy reflects a deliberate shift toward inclusive leadership, especially in a district where diverse populations often compete for attention.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Usman Mohamed said Adidi’s grassroots engagement sets her apart. He noted that non-indigenous residents—who make up a large segment of the AMAC/Bwari population—have long needed a more assertive voice at the National Assembly.

“Adidi’s track record of community engagement and her grassroots-driven approach to politics make her well-suited to bridge existing gaps in representation and ensure that all voices within the constituency are heard,” he said.

Party leaders also used the opportunity to call for unity within the APC ranks, warning that internal divisions could weaken the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 general elections. They urged members and residents alike to rally behind a single candidate to secure victory.

Responding to the endorsement, Adidi welcomed the support, describing it as both encouraging and demanding. She said the backing places a responsibility on her to deliver inclusive policies and maintain constant engagement with constituents.

“You cannot lead in isolation,” she said, stressing that her approach would prioritise collaboration, feedback, and people-driven decision-making.

Adidi pledged to advocate for equal representation across all groups in the constituency, particularly those who feel politically marginalised. She also acknowledged her learning curve in politics, adding that she intends to grow through direct engagement with the people she hopes to represent.
