Skepta Cries Out Over ‘Injustice in Nigeria,’ Urges Global Support for Nigerians

British-Nigerian rapper Skepta has raised fresh concerns over what he described as growing injustice in Nigeria, calling on celebrities, global influencers and the international community to speak up for Nigerians.

The award-winning rapper made the emotional appeal in a video message where he said Nigerians have continued to endure hardship and systemic injustice while masking their struggles with resilience and strength.

Skepta, known for blending British grime with African influences, said he regularly uses his platform to highlight issues affecting Nigerians whenever the opportunity presents itself, whether through performances, visuals or public statements.

“There is so much injustice in Nigeria,” the rapper said. “Whenever I can, whether it is at my shows, verbally or images, whatever I can do, we are going to speak up for injustice at all time.”

The music star stressed that many Nigerians are silently battling difficult realities and need stronger international attention and support rather than admiration alone for their resilience.

“Nigerians need help. We need people to speak up for us as well. We need to protect Nigerians,” he added.

Skepta also warned against the perception that Nigerians are coping well simply because of their ability to remain hopeful and creative despite economic and social pressures.

“This is my message to the people; please, I know that we are resilient and we make everything look good, but we need help too. Please, help us,” he appealed.

His comments have already sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians agreeing that global awareness about governance, economic hardship, insecurity and social injustice in the country remains limited despite repeated concerns raised by citizens and activists.

Over the years, several Nigerian entertainers and public figures have used their platforms to speak against social injustice, police brutality, economic hardship and governance failures, especially following movements such as the #EndSARS protests that drew worldwide attention.
