PFIPC Scandal Deepens as Adeyemi’s Father Alleges Police Raided Home Three Times, Arrested Him While Searching for Son

The controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) has taken another dramatic turn after the father of self-proclaimed Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi, accused security operatives of repeatedly raiding his home and arresting him during a search for his son.

Pa Adetunji Adeniyi said armed operatives stormed his residence in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, three times within two days, damaging parts of the property, confiscating mobile phones and eventually taking him into custody alongside a family friend who was visiting the house.

Speaking with BBC Yoruba, the elderly Adeniyi claimed the first team of operatives entered the compound by climbing over the fence and destroying sections of the barbed wire before identifying themselves as government security personnel. He said the officers thoroughly searched the premises after he opened the door for them.

His allegations come as investigations intensify into the PFIPC, a council the Presidency has described as non-existent despite reports that it received a ₦1.3 billion allocation in the 2026 federal budget. President Bola Tinubu has since directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to conclude an investigation into the matter within 30 days.

The arrest of Adeyemi’s father has also sparked criticism from prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN). Falana questioned the legality of detaining a family member while the principal suspect had publicly indicated his willingness to cooperate with investigators.

Adeyemi, who has remained out of public sight, recently declared during an interview with social media personality VeryDarkMan that he was ready to submit official documents to the ICPC. He claimed the documents would help investigators uncover how the controversial agency allegedly secured billions of naira in budgetary allocations.

Meanwhile, the political fallout continues to grow. National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prof. Sadiq Gombe, has called on President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to resign over the controversy. On the other hand, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, challenged Adeyemi to stop avoiding public scrutiny and present evidence to support his allegations against the Chief of Staff.

As investigations continue, the PFIPC saga is raising fresh concerns about transparency, budget oversight and accountability within government institutions. The outcome of the ICPC probe is expected to determine whether the council was part of an elaborate fraud or whether deeper institutional failures enabled the controversy.
