Kaduna APC Crisis: 55 Aspirants Accuse Party, Uba Sani’s Government of Neglect After Stepping Down

Fresh cracks have emerged within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State as no fewer than 55 former aspirants have accused the party leadership and the state government of abandoning loyal members who sacrificed their political ambitions for party unity.

The aggrieved politicians, operating under the Kaduna State House of Assembly APC Aspirants Forum 2026, said they voluntarily withdrew from various elective contests after appeals from party leaders, believing their loyalty and commitment would earn them recognition and inclusion in the party’s affairs.

In a statement issued on Friday, the forum’s Chairman, Godwin Luka (Maisolar), and Secretary, Tahir Gambo Abubakar, expressed frustration over what they described as persistent neglect despite their unwavering support for the APC. They said repeated efforts to secure meetings with the party leadership and the Kaduna State Government had failed to produce any meaningful response.

According to the forum, members abandoned their ambitions solely to strengthen the party’s chances at the polls and preserve internal unity. However, they alleged that months after making the sacrifice, they had been left out of appointments, consultations and other political engagements.

The group further claimed that while loyal party members remained sidelined, individuals who had openly criticised the APC or opposed its leadership were allegedly being rewarded with appointments and political opportunities.

“We willingly sacrificed our personal ambitions after appeals by the leadership because we believed our loyalty, discipline and commitment to the party would be recognised and appreciated,” the statement read. “We remain committed to the ideals and success of the APC, but our patience and loyalty should not be mistaken for weakness, neither should our sacrifices be taken for granted.”

The forum stressed that its demands were not for preferential treatment but for fairness, justice and recognition of members who made personal sacrifices to strengthen the ruling party. It also warned that continued neglect could dampen the morale of party faithful as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While reaffirming their loyalty to Governor Uba Sani and the APC, the aspirants urged the governor and the party leadership to open dialogue and address their concerns before the situation worsens. They noted that many of their members enjoy considerable grassroots support across their constituencies and that their supporters are watching developments closely.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Kaduna State chapter of the APC nor the Kaduna State Government had responded publicly to the allegations.
