Dickson Vows NDC Will Defeat ‘Federal Might’ in 2027, Promises Peaceful Elections

National Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has expressed confidence that the party will overcome what he described as “federal might” in the 2027 general elections.

Dickson, a former governor of Bayelsa State, also pledged that the party would resist voter intimidation, violence and any attempt to manipulate the electoral process.

In a post shared on his X account, the NDC chairman assured Nigerians that every vote would count and vowed that the party would not tolerate the use of security operatives or armed thugs to influence the outcome of the elections.

“I want to assure you that every vote will count. There will be no room for violence, intimidation, or the deployment of security operatives and armed thugs against law-abiding citizens, as some people do.

“We believe the people’s will is supreme.”

Dickson thanked supporters for their continued prayers and backing, urging Nigerians to remain vigilant ahead of the polls.

According to him, citizens must be prepared to democratically resist any form of intimidation, oppression, inducement or violence aimed at undermining the electoral process.

“Together, we must remain vigilant and ready to democratically resist intimidation, oppression, violence, inducements, and every attempt to undermine the will of our people.”

The former governor also recalled previous political victories against the influence of the ruling party, expressing confidence that history would repeat itself.

“We have defeated federal might severally before, and, by the grace of God, we shall do so again, with me leading from the front, as you know,” he added.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is expected to participate in the 2027 presidential election with Peter Obi as its presidential candidate.
