WAFCON 2026: Super Falcons Face Egypt as Group C Quarter-Final Race Goes Down to the Wire

The final Group C matches of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will be played on Wednesday night, with qualification for the quarter-finals still hanging in the balance.

Defending champions Nigeria will take on already-eliminated Egypt, while group leaders Malawi face Zambia in the other decisive fixture.

A victory for Zambia over Malawi, combined with a Nigerian win against Egypt, would leave Nigeria, Malawi and Zambia level on six points after three matches.

In that scenario, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will apply the tournament’s head-to-head criteria among the three tied teams to determine the final Group C standings.

The top two teams in the group will qualify automatically for the quarter-finals.

Nigeria’s clash with Egypt is scheduled to kick off at 9:00 p.m. West African Time at the Stade Olympique de Rabat.

The match will be broadcast live on AfroSport, an official WAFCON rights holder, as well as SuperSport and CAF TV.
