Temitope Osoba’s Family Breaks Silence, Condemns False Reports About Actress’ Death

The family of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has appealed for privacy as they mourn her passing, while strongly condemning the spread of what they described as false and unverified reports about the circumstances surrounding her death.

In a statement released on Thursday through the actress’ official Instagram page, the Awonuga/Osoba family expressed disappointment over the wave of misinformation circulating across social media and blogs since news of her death became public.

The family said many of the claims being shared online were inaccurate and had not been authorised by them. They stressed that the reports were based on speculation and urged the public to stop spreading unverified information.

“At this difficult time, we wish to categorically state that the numerous claims circulating on social media and various blogs regarding the circumstances surrounding her death are false, speculative, and entirely unauthorised,” the statement read.

The family noted that the circulation of misleading stories has only added to their pain during an already difficult period. They appealed to well-wishers and the media to show compassion by allowing them to grieve without unnecessary speculation.

“We respectfully urge the public to refrain from sharing or promoting misinformation that only adds to the pain our family is already enduring.”

They also requested privacy, asking Nigerians to respect their need for space while they come to terms with the loss of their loved one.

According to the statement, any future updates regarding Osoba’s passing or funeral arrangements will only be released through official family channels and authorised representatives.

The family concluded by thanking fans, colleagues and members of the public for their prayers, messages of support and love, while urging everyone to honour the late actress’s memory with dignity and respect.
