Controversial self-acclaimed relationship expert, Blessing CEO, has apologised to Nigerians for making careless remarks about people’s pain and personal struggles on social media.
Her apology came shortly after her lover, IVD, publicly sought forgiveness from his business partners, family members and friends over what he described as five years of prolonged challenges.
In a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday, Blessing CEO expressed regret over her previous comments, admitting that she had spoken insensitively about experiences she had never personally endured.
The apology comes amid her own difficult personal circumstances, following the reported death of her second son while she was in prison.
Reflecting on her situation, the relationship expert suggested that her current experience had made her understand the consequences of dismissing other people’s suffering.
She wrote: “I am realising that talk is cheap but action is loud. I’m only human, with blood flowing through my veins, so I’m bound to make mistakes.
“Mistakes have a price and that’s what I’m paying for now with my tears. I am so broken to the point that I am losing myself. Pray for me because I’m exhausted from praying by myself.
“I am sorry, I am so so sorry, for speaking about the pains I have never felt carelessly. So I will say this over and over again, I am sorry to everyone I have hurt with words and actions, now I can feel every bit of your pain that I once mocked.”
Blessing CEO had previously faced criticism over comments she made about IVD’s late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
She had suggested that Bimbo was responsible for the tragedy that befell her, alongside other remarks that attracted widespread condemnation and accusations of mocking the deceased.
The controversy resurfaced after news of Blessing CEO’s relationship with IVD became public.
A video of the relationship expert also circulated on social media, showing her making a controversial statement that she would rather “put you 6 feet and collect him” than snatch another woman’s husband.
Her latest apology has brought renewed attention to her previous remarks and the personal challenges she says she is currently facing.
