Osun 2026: Over 2,000 Modakeke Households Receive Food, Cash Support Ahead of Election

More than 2,000 households in Modakeke, Osun State, have received food items and cash support through a humanitarian outreach linked to the governorship campaign of APC candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

The intervention was organised by the Otunba Bobagunwa Foundation ahead of the August 15 Osun governorship election, with organisers saying the exercise was designed to provide support to residents while strengthening grassroots mobilisation for the APC candidate and his running mate, Engr. Benjamin Kayode Adereti.

The outreach, led by the foundation’s founder, Otunba Kazeem Odeyeyiwa, covered all 87 polling units in Modakeke. Party members and other residents were among those targeted by the distribution.

Speaking during the exercise, Odeyeyiwa urged residents to maintain unity and turn out in large numbers on election day. He also called on beneficiaries and APC supporters to support the AMBO-Adereti ticket at the polls.

Odeyeyiwa said an AMBO-led government would focus on development, inclusive governance and improved welfare if elected to lead Osun State.

The foundation’s intervention comes amid heightened political activity ahead of the Osun governorship poll, with candidates and their supporters intensifying grassroots engagement across the state. The distribution of food and cash was presented by the organisers as humanitarian support as well as part of their campaign mobilisation.

Community leaders, beneficiaries and APC supporters who attended the exercise praised the foundation for what they described as timely assistance to households.

Several APC figures were also present, including Modakeke APC Apex Leader Alhaji Wahab Adetunji, APC Modakeke Chairman Hon. Goke Adenowale, Council Chairman Hon. Mojeed Lawal, Hon. Wale Amusan, Hon. Daud Olasupo, Hon. Kareem Ismail, Engr. Kayode Sowade, Prof. Chief Benjamin Adekunle Eegunranti, Chief Kola Olabisi and Hon. Adeboye Adegoke, among others.
