Niger Tornadoes Return to Minna Stadium Ahead of 2026/27 NPFL Season

Niger Tornadoes are set to return to the Bako Kotangora Stadium in Minna as they step up preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The Ikon Allah Boys will resume full training at their refurbished home ground on Monday, ending a period of using neutral venues while renovation work was carried out.

Niger Tornadoes have been forced to play their home matches away from Minna since work began on the stadium. The renovation was undertaken to improve the facility ahead of the new NPFL campaign.

The return to Bako Kotangora Stadium is expected to give the team a familiar setting as preparations enter a crucial stage. However, the venue must still receive approval from the NPFL before it can officially host league matches.

That approval will be particularly important for Niger Tornadoes, who are scheduled to begin their 2026/27 campaign at home against Enyimba.

The clash with Enyimba will provide an early test for the Minna-based side and could also mark the first competitive use of the renovated stadium if it receives the necessary clearance.

With the new season approaching, Niger Tornadoes will now look to make the most of their return home as they fine-tune their squad and tactical plans for the campaign.
