Iran FM Accuses Netanyahu of Tricking Trump Into War With Iran, Calls Israeli PM ‘Serpent’

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of manipulating the United States into war with Iran, branding the Israeli leader a “serpent” in a fresh escalation of rhetoric between Tehran and its opponents.

Araghchi made the accusation on Monday in a post on X, claiming Netanyahu had boasted in Hebrew about influencing the US administration and pushing Washington towards military action against Iran.

The Iranian foreign minister cited Netanyahu’s alleged comments about using extensive appearances on US television networks to shape American public and political opinion. Araghchi contrasted that with what he described as Netanyahu’s public praise for US President Donald Trump’s leadership.

“In English, he praises POTUS’ leadership. Serpent,” Araghchi wrote, after accusing Netanyahu of boasting that he had influenced Washington.

The conflict between Iran, Israel and the United States has entered a volatile phase since fighting erupted on February 28. US and Israeli strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior military figures, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks against US-linked targets across the region.

An April ceasefire reduced the intensity of the fighting, but it has not produced a lasting peace agreement. Sporadic attacks, particularly around the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, have continued to threaten regional stability.

Tensions rose again after the United States struck Iran’s Larak Island late on Sunday, marking its first attack there in about a month. Iran said it responded by targeting military bases in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates used by US forces. Netanyahu, meanwhile, has rejected the possibility of a US-Iran agreement and recently described Iran’s leaders as “savages”.
