Zamfara Governor Appoints Shehu Baraya New Head of Civil Service

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has appointed Shehu Baraya as the new Head of the State Civil Service, with the appointment taking effect immediately.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada, and signed by Suleman Ahmad Tudu, Senior Special Assistant (Media), Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

Baraya takes over from Yakubu Haidara, who recently retired after a career in the Zamfara State civil service.

The new Head of Service is a career civil servant with extensive experience in public administration. Before his latest appointment, he served as Permanent Secretary of the Zamfara State Civil Service Commission.

Baraya has also held Permanent Secretary positions in several ministries during his career, giving him broad experience in the management and administration of the state’s public service.

Governor Lawal commended the outgoing Head of Service, Haidara, for his contributions to the development of the state civil service and appreciated him for his years of service.

The governor also wished Haidara a fulfilling and rewarding life after retirement.

While congratulating Baraya on his appointment, Lawal tasked him with using his experience to strengthen professionalism and discipline within the civil service.

He further urged the new Head of Service to improve productivity and efficiency across government ministries, departments and agencies in line with his administration’s Rescue Agenda.
