Behind the polished images of the fashion industry lies a less visible story of setbacks, difficult choices and lessons learned through experience. For model and fashion influencer Veronika Vovk Dmytriyivna, those experiences have helped shape how she approaches her career, relationships and personal decisions.
Veronika’s professional journey has taken her beyond Ukraine, with work involving Ukrainian and international fashion brands, commercial campaigns and projects featuring prominent personalities. Her experience includes work with Guess, an ongoing collaboration with Italian brand 100% Capri and fashion shows connected to Demna.
One of the experiences that strengthened her confidence was a commercial campaign for a Cypriot airline that featured former Italian footballer Andrea Pirlo. Working in an international environment and alongside recognisable personalities gave Veronika exposure to different professional standards and helped her become more comfortable navigating unfamiliar settings.
But her career has also brought difficult experiences that influenced her approach to people and decision-making. Veronika says those challenges taught her to pay closer attention to the people around her, listen to her instincts and become more confident in making decisions independently.
She considers professionalism, adaptability and confidence among the qualities she has developed through her work. Moving between different countries, projects and professional environments has required her to adjust quickly while maintaining a consistent approach to her work.
Her development has taken place alongside her education. While building her modelling career and travelling for professional commitments, Veronika completed a degree in Psychology in Ukraine. Managing university, work, fashion projects and frequent travel required considerable organisation and discipline.
Rather than viewing education and modelling as competing paths, Veronika believes people can pursue several ambitions at once when they have the organisation and mindset to manage them. Her own experience of completing her psychology degree while continuing to work with brands reflects that approach.
Veronika is now focused on expanding her presence in the international fashion industry and developing her personal brand. Her Instagram account, @nikavovkk, has a predominantly Ukrainian and Slavic audience, while she aims to reach a broader audience across Europe and other international markets.
As she looks ahead, Veronika hopes to work with more established fashion brands, expand her professional network and continue exploring opportunities within the industry. Alongside those ambitions, she says the experiences that shaped her — including learning to trust her judgment, choose her relationships carefully and adapt to challenging environments — remain central to the career she is building.
